Ernest Langdon, a renowned coach and 10-time national champion in the defensive 92G Elite LTT pistol discipline, has long advocated traditional semi-automatic double-action (DA / SA) platforms and Bereta 92. He spent years behind Beretta, combining features scattered in different models in a high-performance pistol.
Perhaps the most simplistic description, the Elite LTT, is what you will get if you take the popular checkered and light rail M9A1 frame and combine it with a Vertec model slide to add dovetail (and therefore variable) sights to a barrel combination. Slim LTT grips, custom sights, and some upgrades.
It overlooks several vital features but brings one closer to the concept.
Landon designed the 110″ fiber optic front end, and the serrated rear site jumps out on initial inspection.
Rare sights to miss are:
- Steel triggers.
- Small parts (as opposed to plastic on today’s 92s).
- Factory bezels that address some of Beretta’s well-known access points.
This feature is exclusive to the Elite LTT at this time and targets close to the trigger guard, inward slide back, and beavertail radius that seems to annoy shooters of each specific hand size.
The LTT delivers a 92G Elite LTT factory lightweight “D” hammer with a spring, reducing double-acting stress on the gun relative to the standard M9 or 92.
However, the Kimber 1911 improves trigger work where Ernest polishes and fits. New trigger bars, saws, etc. Langdon is well known for his trigger work on the Beretta, and the trigger work update is quite popular.
